Kleinbaai Lifestyle Estate: Thank you for taking the time to speak with us today. To start, when did you purchase your property at Kleinbaai Lifestyle Estate?

Elsie Gilmour: I purchased my property in July 2024.

Kleinbaai Lifestyle Estate: And which unit did you decide to purchase?

Elsie Gilmour: I bought unit C6, which is a 2-bedroom, 1½-bathroom unit with a garage.

Kleinbaai Lifestyle Estate: What motivated you to invest in Kleinbaai Lifestyle Estate? Was it for a holiday home, permanent residence, retirement, or purely an investment?

Elsie Gilmour: It was very much an emotional purchase for me. I have fond memories of Kleinbaai, and I believe that living in a modern, secure estate with access to medical assistance is a wonderful option. This location holds a special place in my heart, and I hope it will provide a good rental home for someone making a living or retiring in Kleinbaai, while also offering a comfortable and fulfilling lifestyle.

Kleinbaai Lifestyle Estate: Where are you currently living?

Elsie Gilmour: I am currently living in Scotland, UK.

Kleinbaai Lifestyle Estate: What are you most looking forward to about staying at Kleinbaai Lifestyle Estate?

Elsie Gilmour: I’m looking forward to reconnecting with the memories I have of Kleinbaai. For example, I have vivid memories of watching the treacherous sea waters around the coast on stormy days, enjoying fresh seafood like abalone, galjoen, and crawfish, and taking walks along the many trails exploring the diverse Fynbos, including tasting the unique sour figs that grow in the region. I also loved exploring the caves and finding evidence of human habitation along the prehistoric coast. I’ll never forget eating dried shark from the factory in Gansbaai harbour as soon as we landed for the summer.

Kleinbaai Lifestyle Estate: Those sound like incredible memories. You also mentioned a photo—could you tell us more about it?

Elsie Gilmour: Yes, I have a nostalgic photo from 1972 taken at the tidal pool in Kleinbaai. In the photo, you can see me with my blue swimming cap. It’s a cherished memory of swimming in that tidal pool, a place that holds so much significance for me.
